After a personal health crisis, I was left by standard medicine with nothing.  Their tests couldn't find anything wrong and so they told me to "get used to it".  I wasn't satisfied with living with it so, desperate, I went to an acupuncturist.

Not only did she give me hope, but she told  me that she would not be healing me, I would be healing myself.  I was floored!  Really?!  And she was right.  It took time, a couple of months, but it was so worth it.  I've not had a return of symptoms since she taught me how to keep myself healthy.  And that is what I want for you!

As a practitioner, it is not my goal to keep you coming in, instead, I want to help you get yourself back to health and then teach you how to maintain your health at home while only seeing me occasionally.  Give me a call, let's discuss how to regain your health!

About Oriental Medicine

Oriental Medicine is a holistic system that sees disease and illness as the result of a disharmony in the body/mind/spirit.  Symptoms are like road maps that point a practitioner to the imbalance.  Unlike western medicine that seeks to get rid of the symptom, we dig deeper to the root cause of the disharmony and seek to re-balance.  Once the patient's system is back in balance, the symptom disappears.

We do this by following the four steps of diagnostics:

"Looking"  In Chinese Medicine I observe your face, skin, gait, eyes, and tongue, among other symptoms to gather clues to what ails you.

"Asking" - You and I will do a lot of discussing.  I'll take an extensive background in the first appointment and ask you questions that you perhaps have never been asked before.  It all helps me read the map of your symptoms.

"Hearing" - I'll listen to how you speak, breathe, even the sounds your abdomen makes can give me clues.

"Palpation" - this means that I'll feel your 12 Chinese pulses all located on your inner wrist, certain locations of your abdomen are storehouses of information, as well as any acu-point.  The skin holds so many clues!

Once I have an idea of the different clues your bodies is giving me, I'll evaluate the "map" of symptoms and a treatment plan is developed.
